 |
University of Malaya is the first university of the country, situated on a 750-acre campus in the southwest of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. UM was formed in 1949 with the merging of King Edwards VII Medical College and Raffles College in Singapore. The University later moved to its present site in Pantai Valley in Kuala Lumpur in 1958. Today, UM has 12 faculties and the total enrollment is over 30,000. The University motto, “Ilmu Punca Kemajuan” (Knowledge is the Key to Success) reflects the philosophy of the University, constantly striving for knowledge in all fields to produce successful graduates and a successful nation. |

Chiang Mai University was established in 1964 to extend higher education into the northern part of Thailand, thus making it the first provincial university in Thailand outside the capital city. It was granted its royal charter by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on January 15, 1964. The goals of the institution are to provide educational and occupational knowledge and skills to promote academic achievement and to preserve the national culture. The University has a four-fold mandate: education, research, sustaining art and culture, and community service with special attention to the priorities and needs of the North. |

Thammasat University is the second oldest university in Thailand established in 1934 as an institute for higher education in Law and Politics. Since then, it has expanded to various disciplines in response to social needs and to promote research and development. At present, there are 18 undergraduate faculties, and 7 faculties and 2 institutes offers internatinonal undergraduate and graduate programs in English. TU holds four research institute in four campuses including the main campus in the center of Bangkok. Over 24,000 are enrolled at TU.The university has 223 partner institutions in 35 countries and offers various programs attract international students such as Thai Studies and International Programs. |
