Letter of Admission
We will issue a letter of admission to those who decide to enroll at AGU and have completed the admissions procedures. A letter of admission will be required while applying for residence status at the Immigration Bureau of Japan.
Please fill out the application form below if you wish to apply for a letter of admission (undergraduate/graduate students).
The letter of admission will be sent beginning January 10, 2018 on a first come, first served basis.
Payment for Tuition/Entrance Fee (Undergraduate)
Please check the International Students Admissions Procedures and Requirements sent to the successful candidates of the entrance examination for international students. Those who reside outside of Japan may remit the entrance fee, tuition and fees by overseas remittance. Please follow the procedures below.
Information regarding scholarships will be given during orientation for 1st year international students beginning at the end of March 2018.

Please apply for a Letter of Admission from the International Center at the beginning of March.
Documents to submit to AGU
Aoyama campus: submit the following documents at the orientation for international students at the end of March.
Sagamihara Campus: submit the following documents to the Students Affairs and Welfare Division (Student Center, Building B, 1st floor)
- A copy of your Reservation Notice for Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students
- Notice of Enrollment by Privately-Financed International Students with Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship Reservations (form 5)
- A photocopy of the JP Bank passbook (the cover and 1st page with your name and account number)
Please find housing yourself in Japan according to your preferences and budget. Aoyama Gakuin Campus Shop Real Estate Team can help find housing for international students.
For most housing, you will be required to have a status of residence of student while contracting for the housing.

《If you decide on housing after you arrive in Japan》
If you decide on a place to live after arriving in Japan, please bring your Residence Card that was issued at the airport to your local municipality office (city ward etc.) within 14 days, and submit a residence notification. (If you did not receive your Residence Card at the airport when you entered Japan, your Residence Card will be sent from the Immigration Bureau of Japan via simple registered mail once you have notified your local municipality your address).
Please apply for the National Health Insurance as well at your local municipality (except for those who have relatives in Japan and may join their insurance).
Beginning of the Year Orientation
The orientation period begins at the end of March and lasts until the beginning of April. The event schedule for orientations depends on each college and the year. Please refer to your college/school for the year you enroll and attend the corresponding orientation. Further information regarding orientations will be updated on AGU’s website (around beginning of March.)
At the end of March 2018, the International Center will hold an orientation for 1st year international students. This orientation is important for starting your university life. It may disrupt later procedures if you miss this orientation, so please be sure to attend. If you know that you will definitely be unable to attend this orientation, please contact your campus’ International Center in advance. More information will be updated on the International Center’s International Students website, (for enrollees) around the first half of March 2018.

Status of Residence
The office will be closed from December 25, 2017 to January 9, 2018 due to National and winter holidays. We will not be able to respond to inquiries by telephone or e-mail during the winter holiday period. The office will reopen January 10, 2018.
